The Martin W. Johns Award

The Martin W. Johns Award recognizes members of the McMaster community* who have made outstanding contributions to the field of part-time studies.

APPLY

Examples of activities or circumstances which would qualify a nominee for this award include: [The nominee]

  • Has promoted the academic interests of part-time students by demonstrated awareness of the special needs of part-time students. For example, the accessibility of faculty or staff to part-time students or significant university committee, teaching or administrative involvement.

 

  • Has promoted a cultural and social environment of benefit to part-time students through university or student association involvement.

 

  • Has promoted the interests of part-time studies with the community at large by significant voluntary community involvement or encouraging liaison between the university and the community.

 

*The McMaster community, for the purposes of nomination, include faculty, instructors, staff, administrators, and members of the Association.

AND

  • Have overcome particularly adverse circumstances in order to attend university

OR

  • Have demonstrated outstanding achievement or commitment in activities distinct from university studies.
