To qualify for this award you must apply and:

Have completed 24 units of undergraduate courses at McMaster
-
Must have a “B” average based on last 24 units taken; and
-
Obtained the majority of course units while attending McMaster as a part-time student
AND
-
Have overcome particularly adverse circumstances in order to attend university
OR
-
Have demonstrated outstanding achievement or commitment in activities distinct from university studies.
Examples of qualifying activities or circumstances:

Significant voluntary community involvement;
-
Significant university committee or student association involvement;
-
Significant health problems
Examples of activities or circumstances that would NOT, on their own, qualify.
- Returning to school after many years away
- Working full-time while attending school
- Homemaking / raising children
However, any of these non-qualifying circumstances would be considered in the context of their being done as well as school and as well as the qualifying circumstance or activity.

You may apply for this award more than once during your time at McMaster; however, the award can only be won once by a student.
Nominations may be submitted in person, by email (maps@mcmaster.ca) or by Canada Post, but must be received before the deadline.
